Q: What's the difference between a lawyer and a catfish?
A: One is a fish, the other is a scum sucking scavanger.
Welcome to ScumSuckerRecords!
I do a lot of business with Internet retaillers, and local (Beaumont, TX) companies.
Eventually this will be a site that to inform others of the good, bad, and worse experences I have had dealing with these companies.
But for now. This entire domain is devoted to one issue.

Because of the local government, it's "The armpit of Texas!"
The only "Opportunity" it offers is to those with their hands in the coffers. And to their "friends". Usually with, or in control of, large amounts of money). Nothing new here. Most cities have the same problem. But since I personally witnessed former mayor Maury Meyers stealing sometime ago. And have recently been reminded of just how bad it's government is, and in particular it's law enforcement.
Putting it quite simply... I'm venting with the tools at my disposal.
Here are 3 examples of how the cops work around here:
1: I was about to go enter a intersection when the light turned yellow. I might have been able to stop, but I'm driving a Avalanche. Not the best at stopping on a dime. And when I glanced in my rear view mirror I had a car running up on my bumper. So instead of causing an accident, I continued on. And the light turned red while I was in it with the other car still behind me. Turns out it was a cop. And he turned on his lights to stop me and give me a ticket for running a red light. Which I told him I did because of his driving. And besides, it was yellow when I entered and that he had done the same thing. Which he's not allowed to do unless he's already got his lights on. (My brother is a cop, currently in a different state, but he's a great source of information about standard practice) For some reason he took some offense to this.
2: A cop sets up a speed trap at the end of an offramp from the Interstate Highway (IH-10). Meaning, you would have to slow down from 65 to 45 within the distance of the offramp. And of course, like most of Texas, 65 is just a suggestion. You had better be doing 70+ to keep from being run over on the IH. But since the city does not patrol the IH. That's the states job. They patrol regular highways, streets, and IH feeder roads. And he was just stacking them up. Had as many as 5 cars stopped at one time. Which was the most he had room to have stopped at one time. But the main point here is that this offramp, recently remodeled and therefore shorter, gives the drivers no ability to start slowing down. You can only safely start hitting the brakes on the feeder. And you have to change at least one lane over, because if you don't you are forced back onto the IH. There are a lot of distractions. On the feeder before the offramp exits is a stoplight where the traffic is trying to speed up to merge with IH traffic, while your forced to slow down, and both of you are changing lanes. I have to take this offramp almost daily. And have tested to see how slow I can get, without causing an accident or getting someone blowing their horn at me, before getting to where the cop positions himself. The best I could do was 55. I'm sure the city gave him some kind of bonus for all the extra cash he brought in and/or blowing away his quota. And since this area became well known as a speed trap, he abandons it for awhile. Giving people time to forget about it, and then he starts again. But my radar detector gives me a heads up when he's there. The drivers I'm pissing off by going so slow are usually glad I've forced them to slow down once they realize why I'm doing it. And since I'm standing out like a sore thumb, he's got his binoculars out scanning me over. Looking for any reason he can stop me.
3: This past Thanksgiving I had a motorcycle cop motion to me to stop when I was trying to enter the feeder road from the mall. He continued on, along with about half a dozen other cars. Which I thought was all the traffic was that he was telling me to stop for. I could not see any other traffic other than what was stopped at the intersection of 105, at least half a mile away. So I crossed the feeder to the underpass. With this A$$hole (Officer T. Wagner) right behind me. He was all hot and bothered about me not following his instructions. I told him I was not a mind reader and if he wanted me to stop and wait for traffic that was several minutes away, he should have been with them. Then he went all over my truck trying to find anything he could give me a "real" ticket for.
And before you start shouting B.S! I'm not trying to hide my identity. I am the owner of this domain. All you have to do is demonstrate you are a human and not a spam-bot. Look me up. I'll be happy to provide the details.
